Surprising isn't it ? I always thought Lotito is Kim Jong-un's inspiration.

The darker the shade in blue, the more visitors we get from that country.

There's plenty of Swedes here who could answer that, but I'd say it's largely the fact that there's a lack of good local clubs in Sweden, leading Swedes to support foreign club and then Lazio's glory days were during Serie A's glory days when we had a Swedish manager, which must have attracted the Swedes.

There is a pretty strong tradition of Swedish players in Italy even before Eriksson, and even at Lazio (Arne Selmosson, for example).

I don't think the level of Swedish clubs has such large effect as there are plenty who support their local club and have a foreign favourite in addition.

But, in the 90's when Serie A had it's glory days we had a TV show called Uno X Due who covered Serie A every Sunday, with Gunnar Nordahl as studio expert. Both the knowledge from the hosts and great reports/documentarys they had together with top football on a channel that was avaliable to pretty much everyone Serie A became hugely popular. That's why there are plenty Swedish Calcio lovers in the age of 25-45. When Sven Göran came along they always showed Lazio as their main game which created a big Swedish fanbase for Lazio.

As I moved to Norway I learned that here it's all about Premier League because that's the only foreign league that's ever been televised pretty much. It's really hard to go to a pub to catch a Serie A game. Normally the Sunday night game is on (if not Barca or Real are playing) because PL don't have a game at that time.

The level of local clubs is surely a reason many of us support Lazio, no? If I was born in Barcelona, I mean I'd like to think I'd have found Lazio, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been as easy as it was being in Ireland where there's no real professional football culture. Surely it's a factor for all of us, unless a particular person attracted us to the club? Television coverage is the other big factor.
