Lotito-era: Best 22 vs Worst 22
« on: February 08, 2017, 07:07:00 PM »

Ok guys, I'd like to welcome you to take out your favourite 11 we had under Lotito and also your worst 11 players we had under Lotito, because it was very difficult and many things to consider I made up 2 elevens, a team of 22 players..so pick 2 for every position.

A rule I made up is you can not choose Negro, Couto, Gottardi and Giannichedda as they do not qualify in my books as "Lotito-era" (even if they played under his rule for one season).

Another rule is you must consider the player when he was performing as best for us, so here will opinions differ and some names on my list seem contraversial but f.e. Mauri made it on my list is for the best we've seen of him (not that very awful season he really was ghost).

I've also added special mentionings to 1: players that were just great signings for our club but did not cut it to this list of "legends" if you want 2: players that were Laziale but did not offer too much on pitch. So here we go:

Angelo Peruzzi
Federico Marchetti

Alex Kolarov
Stefan Radu
Guiseppe Biava
Sebastian Siviglia
Andre Dias
Stefan de Vrij
Massimo Oddo
Stephan Lichtsteiner

Stefano Mauri
Senad Lulic
Cristian Ledesma
Lucas Biglia
Marco Parolo
Hernanes
Felipe Anderson
Antonio Candreva

Tommaso Rocchi
Miroslav Klose
Paolo Di Canio
Goran Pandev

These guys would make my team, as you see we have some of them in todays edition, what do you think? Cesar instead of Lulic? Brocchi instead of Parolo, Gaby instead of Biglia? Well take out your favourite-team and have a say.

Great signings by Lotito/Tare: Cesar, Dabo, Dino Baggio, Gaby Mudingayi, Adouolay Konko, Cristian Brocchi

Special Laziale grinta: Simone Inzaghi, Fabio Firmani, Roberto Muzzi

The WTF totally-flop squad

Fabrizio Casazza
J.P. Carrizzo

Oscar Lopez
Andrea Giallombardo
Ivan Artipoli
Matias Lequi
David Rozenhal
Leonardo Talamonti
Luciano Zauri
Pereirinha

Christian Keller
Christian Manfredini
Massimo Bonnani
Miguel Mea Vitali
Mourad Meghni
Ravel Morrison
Esteban Gonzalez
Pasquale Foggia

Fabio Vignaroli
Ayodele Makinwa
Louis Saha
Helder Postiga

To comment worst squad i'd have the same approach as the best team, those who made this list was disastrous when they played as worst (Zauri was a good left-back at times but at right back he was amateurish, Foggia made a couple of good performances but the rest so lame, Manfredini aswell etc etc)

What do you think?

Yeah total brain-collapse, my bad. The great Maki should naturally already be crowned Player of the Century no matter who will come in future

yeah u right edo, never displayed my 11,

Peruzzi
Oddo-Biava-Radu-Kolarov
Ledesma-Biglia-Hernanes
Mauri
Rocchi-Klose

It is very intresting to see how other members value players importance, affection, grinta... what must a player have to make that list? And to answer your question Klose would walk right into my first team, ahead of any winger, thanks to his personality, proffessionalism and spirit. Zarate though was never gonna make it into a Lazio-legend with that attitude and lies. However a player I'd consider ahead of Hernanes and Biglia would be Brocchi of course, but still if you consider MVP - and game-changer-status I'd put Hernanes and Biglia ahead with performances they pulled off. Would you place Zarate in that list?

Here is my worst 11

Casazza
Zauri- Lequi- Artipoli- Giallombardo
E.Gonzalez- Mea Vitali - Meghni - Keller
Saha- Vignaroli

I think my list is going to be fairly subjective as I have personal attitude towards a few players.

My Best 11:
Peruzzzi
Biava Siviglia Radu
Oddo Brocci Parolo Kolarov
Hernanes
Klose Di Canio

My Worst 11:
Marchetti
Belleri Artipoli Rozenhal Oscar Lopez
Keller Manfredini Morrison Meghni
Zarate Saha.

The grinta squad: Filipini bros, Rocchi, Lulic, Ledesma, Dabo, Cribari.
Great Signings: Cesar, Lichtsteiner (hate the guy), Matuzalem (injury plagued unfortunately), Cisse (played out of position).

I could probably make my list more interesting, but it's early morning here.

Peruzzi - Lichsteiner, Biava, De Vrij, Kolarov - Felipe Anderson, Mauri, Ledesma, Lulic - Rocchi, Klose
with Marchetti, Radu, Brocchi, Hernanes, Parolo, Candreva, Pandev

next to enter the top: Milinkovic, Keita, Immobile

One thing I notice - there are only a few very good defenders to enter the team. That's in my opinion the major problem in the past 10 years...you can hardly find 2-3 defenders for which you can say: Those were really great, they could have played in any team. Could have included Stam for example, but he was a Cragnotti sign. Same as Oddo in my opinion.

PS: not sure how somebody can call Cesar, Ledesma, Lulic or Lichty flops.

Why did I always like Talamonti in that team, but no one here seems to like him?

His performance in Derby 3-1 was great, wasnt it?

I rated Behrami highly that hasn't been mentioned yet. Muslera did very well with us towards the end.
