Potentially but not necessarily.. its almost certain that Nani will return to Valencia and theres been rumours of Anderson being sold.

Lets say no Nani and no Anderson, aging Parolo and Lulic, Murgia and Di Gennaro not really good enough... a midfielder like Cristante needs to come even if we do keep SMS

Exactly. And that's also what I suggested in Marusic's topic. We have the money even without any sales. Of course our budget would be then used on one player pretty much but the money is there.

It might not be perfect but I can stretch to maybe 75% close to perfect. That's all you get Cathal, 25%

I'm not convinced Cristante would get into our team without the sale of SMS and I don't see the club making a record signing under Lotito for someone who isn't guaranteed to play.

Parolo is the most important player in our system and while we obviously need to line up an eventually replacement, it won't necessarily be this summer.

I think the criticism of Murgia is over the top. SMS would also flounder as a vice-Parolo in my opinion and I think Inzaghi needs to give a lot of thought to Murgia's future. He's one of the most established of Italy's youth products and could easily develop into a starting calibre player for the national team, but I'm not sure what his position is.

Out of all the players we've sent on loan, Cataldi and Minala are the ones that have racked up the games and it wouldn't surprise me if we look very closely at Minala this summer and maybe even have more tolerance for Danilo. I still think the club don't want him anywhere near Rome, but maybe the Benevento spell has given him a deeper of maturity.

I also think Lulic could feature more often in a central-midfield role moving forward and I could see us spending big on a player to take Lulic's place on the left.

And there's always the option of Luis Alberto in a deeper role.

Point is, Lazio won't necessarily need to go to market for the midfield and with that in mind, Cristante could very much be a SMS replacement if anything.

That's an interesting one, Cathal. Cataldi and Minala seem ready for the next step - they seem more mature and will probably be at least considered by Inzaghi. Cataldi is the more mature option, but it seems  that Inzaghi has made up his mind when he prefered Murgia to him. Minala on the other hand is as always a mistery. I still feel like he was more a marketing stunt given his incredible story than a player that was ever considered for Lazio. But his progress at Salernitana certainly recommends him. To finish with a joke - he only has a few years till pension, we need to decide fast.

Im not convinced on Minala, I think Serie B is his level. He will likely return briefly to us and then be sent on loan again or preferably sold to a Serie B team.

Cataldi could possibly have a future here but again, I think he will be sold in summer. Pasquale Foggia who is currently DS of Benevento said today that he has "incredible potential and if he matures and realises it he can become a great player even for the national side, but if he doesnt he will have a lot of regrets in his career". Harsh words.

Lombardi will also return to us too. Id like to see him given another chance. Maybe if Lulic moves into the middle so he doesnt have to run up and down the wings at 33 years old, Lombardi can play wide left.

With his speed and workrate i'd like Lombardi to get a chance during the summer as wingback, can't hurt to look.

For me Cataldi is history .... but that's only me of course ...

Lucas Perez' s agent says Tare informed about him to replace Keita last season but then they went with Nani instead.
If the interest would still exist he would love to join his good friend Luis Alberto in Rome says the agent, as hus client always liked Lazio ...  :twinkle:

Not an expert either, but Arsenal did pay 20mill a short while back.  It seems he worked well with Luis Alberto at Deportivo, 18 goals between them. Same age as Caicedo, but this one likes to shoot at goal ..

I would like to see Lazio invest younger, but we don't have a say.  :twinkle:

it's stupid to pay 25-30 mil for Bryan Cristante, his contract only 1 year and his price only 20 mil at transfermarkt. i'm oke if we pay 15-20 mil, not 25...
but it's benfica, milk squeeze from portugal
