If anyone dislikes Lotito, Tavecchio is on an entirely different level. Sooner Italy get rid of him the better.

Something is going on between Tavecchio and Lotito for some time. Two months ago some Italian journals were onto line that Agnelli and Lotito made pact in which Juventus chief would benefit with support of other Italian clubs in his bid for president of ECA (European Club Association). Support would be, allegedly, result of Lotito's effort among other president and chiefs, both Italian and foreign clubs. On other hand, Lazio would become member of ECA (which was worked out on meeting where Agnelli got elected as president).

It's bit mysterious all of that but one thing I'm sure: alleged rift between Agnelli and Lotito was never real rift. Agnelli and Lotito both made pretty warm remarks (rare, but still there were couple) of each other during years while 'rift' coincided with Lotito's quote about Marotta's cross-eyed. But would that influence Agnelli to go on war against Lotito. Doubt it, really.
After all that charade with Ann Frank stickers, Agnelli was first and only president of other Serie A clubs to came out openly and support Lotito.

Put that all in context that fiercest Tavecchio's opponent was always Agnelli (through Albertini, in FIGC election 2014) and we're perhaps on something.

Just to add...

Lotito, Agnelli and Fassone want Brunelli to be new Lega Serie A president replacing Beretta (who was Lotito's guy). It is believed they have the backing of all the Serie A clubs except the richer ones (Inter, 1927, Fiorentina, Samp, Torino, Sassuolo, Napoli).

If successful, Fassone would be vice-president with Marotta and Lotito behind him. Effectively, Juve, Milan and Lazio would be running Lega Serie A - and Agnelli is leading ECA.

Tavecchio is in bed with UEFA. So you can see where there's a bit of a power struggle. Instead of putting people in power, Lotito is now the opposition.
