If your bus is scheduled to arrive at your stop at 8:00 and you turn up at 8:00 to find out it left a minute or two early, then instead of making a complaint and turning up at 8:00 again the next day, turn up at 7:55. That's what Lazio have to do this week. Control what we can control.

Forget the last two league games, forget the referees, forget the poor display and just focus on going into this game feeling more prepared than we have done in recent times. That's the key. That's what will ultimately separate the teams that will play in the Champions League next season from the teams that won't. Not the referees, not what business we do in January, not the result of a game in November.

And to be quite frank, we'll need to up our game in many respects to have any chance of winning this one. This might be the most important game we'll face this season. We lose this, and I think the players will have a hard time believing in a Top 4 finish while a win could put us back on track. It's vital.

Think Samp are on the rebound too after the weekends result. Think this is going to be an excellent game, but we need that air of invincibility back.

Either way, Juve or Napoli drop points this weekend, we can't afford to not capitalize on this like last weekend. 3-4-2-1, get Sergej up the pitch, attack from early on and we should be good to go.

71 min: Finally a goal in this game! It's a scrappy one, but Lazio won't care. Candreva goes down the right of the box and fires a shot at Lobont. He saves the shot put can only push it to Lulic on the other side, who stabs the ball home to give Lazio the lead!!

What are you talking about finishing in the top 4. I still belive we are 4 contenders for the scudeto and if Juve beat Napoli and we win we are back in buisnis.

Can never quite tell if your optimism is genuine or an act

You're not wrong though. We're not out of any race yet. But that's because it's still November more than anything else. By the end of the year, we could be in the thick of a Scudetto race but equally, we could be staring at a battle to remain in the Top 6 never mind the Top 4. This run of games from the Derby to the end of the year was always going to important.

Totally agree.  After the last 2 Serie A games i'm in huge doubt and that's only as a spectator so we might imagine how it's for the players.  If Inzaghi get's them back on full force like before then he really is a topmotivator (wich i do think and believe he is).

Samp is one of the teams to beat nowadays along with Napoli & Inter, and it's on their own turf now less.  Luckely for us they had a huge hickup at Bologna as well so that might rattled them a little.

A positive thing imo is that our setup is 'on paper' more or less perfect ot counter their usual formation.
They play very high up with pressure to recover quickly and counter on the half of the opponent.  Bologna however stayed back and patiently awaited the mistakes.

So it's quit obvious how we should play them, simply just like we did at Juve.

Lazio need to win this match and it's not important in which manner.

Seems preliminary reports suggest that Basta and Wallace will replace Marusic and Bastos for this match.

They are part of the starting 11 so no reason why they would have lost their place after an injury.
Let's face it, Basta & Wallace in defence on the right side against an agressively attacking Sampdoria will be welcome, since opponents nowadays are specificly targeting our right side and Inzaghi also has been trying everything to keep the game on the left.

Exactly, I totally agree.

To be honest I've really missed the security of having Basta on the right side. Marusic is such a gamble to be honest. Love to let him play against smaller teams and as a boost after an hour. But as a constant start 11 player I do believe Marusic has to evolve - he's on the right track, but not there just yet.
