Computers and Internet talk
« on: November 01, 2010, 01:05:10 PM »

Ok, as discussed in the other Free Talk thread, it was about time that we have a topic entirely dedicated to computers and everything related to computers (internet, programms...etc)

Man, everyone knows that firefox is the most resource sucker for net browser despite its great functionality to browse.

Here's the screenshot I took to give you comparison what firefox needs for memory usage.

Look firefox needs at least 52 MB RAM to operate and if you open many tabs it the amount will be much higher.

Try Google Chrome instead. It light for resource.

Ye use Chrome, or buy additional RAM, that's one of the cheapest but one of the most important components in a computer. You can get a 2GB RAM DDR2 for 20, put that in and you're set.

3.6.12

I am using that as well as I write in a dual-core Dell tower with 2 GB RAM memory and can`t complain.

Try also Internet Explorer 9 beta (if you use Vista or Windows 7) it is brilliant.

@ ramone - well it ****s up the cpu usage sometimes when I'm browsing and not using multiple tabs...

I'm on XP home SP2 and still think that 1.2 GB should be sufficient.....

Damn man, still on Service Pack 2 --? That might be one of the reasons why it runs slowly.
You computer is missing so mucn updates, begining with Service Pack 3 and all other updates coming after that!

Based on the tests when SP3 was released, it was established that it increases the PC performance by 16%. So, first thing first, download and install Service Pack 3!
