What a shit competition. How can they ever expect the Coppa to have any magic whatsoever when the big clubs all play at home and get a bye into the round of 16? Jeez.

You have to have the Juves playing away at Vicenza and Milan losing on the road to Venezia on a Tuesday night.

What a shit competition.

When did you join the dark side and become negative like the rest of us

I've said for some time - Italy has a huge football tradition and should really look at having their cup competition follow a format similar to the FA Cup, especially when you have so many meaningless domestic cup games going on anyway.

Very favourable draw. This time we'll beat neaples in the final.

I was just in a very harsh mood.

The Coppa is easy to fix technically. Politically it's a lost cause.

So we are facing Spal or Cittadella.
Cittadella surprisingly eliminated Bologna.

Would be possible away game for us from Slovenia if we got Cittadella.

In Coppa Italia First round Lazio will play against Serie B side Cittadella, who won away at SPAL this afternoon, 0:2. Match is scheduled for December 13th, but should be postponed one day later, given that Lazio play against Torino on Monday, 11th.

Yep, 1/8 final against Cittadella and at Olimpico.

Damn lucky Inter get ot face Serie C side Pordenone who surprisingly eliminated Cagliari.

The match has already been moved to December 14th.

Very good for us to meet a Serie B side so we're not forced to play as many starters as we'd have to do against SPAL.

Watching draw for final rounds and (again) thinking how reaching Coppa final - if not easy - is definitely well within reach and is something should be serious point of discussion in club around New Year and with making plans regarding second part of season.

Yes good point, the Coppa should become important.

Seems like we'd have to beat Cittadella first, then Fiorentina or Sampdoria and then Milan, Inter or maybe Chievo to reacht he final.

So we are avoiding Napoli, Merda & Juve untill the final so it's defenitly worth to keep the Coppa in mind.

Yeah, remember some seasons ago Hernanes scored the winning goal in stoppage time against Hellas, before they promoted to Serie A. Serie B teams can surprise, but our bench should be motivated and ready for this challenge.

Expecting Luis Alberto to play CM (Evesto  ) in this match

Inzaghi showed last season that he would happily go into a Coppa tie without playing any regular starters and the last time we won the Coppa, we needed Ciani in the 95th minute and a penalty shootout to defeat a Serie B-bound Siena.

I could see us treating Cittadella more as a friendly than anything else with Crecco, Mauricio etc. out there and maybe even the Portuguese kids. And while Cittadella are an unfamiliar name, they made the Serie B play-offs last season and they are in contention again and they'd really push us if we sent out our squad members with the wrong mentality.

I think if and when we win this game, we worry about the Coppa as a competition by re-evaluating our objectives over the winter break. Not before.

You're probably right. We also have to think a potential Coppa match December 26th, where we might not play strongest team either.

Yes the lineup wasn't much and also they haven't been swinging recently.
Surprise that they eliminate Napoli yes, but in the current form not so much.

Lineup also showed they only really want the scudetto.
Never the less i'm liking it.

Now for Torino to surprise or Atalanta again the semi's against Juve.
I'll root for that.

I hoped but wasn't sure of course, Napoli did not voluntarly step out of the Coppa.
Atalanta deserve it.

I don't understand why teams like ASR or Napoli Soccer give up CI - of all the trophies they want to win this one is arguably the only one reachable. But hey, we should not underestimate Mila (or VAR for that matter ), it's not like we are in the final yet.
