Think the fatigue and depth issue is being blown out of proportion.

With regard to fatigue - Juventus, Napoli and 1927 are in the same boat as us and we've been able to hang with them for almost 4 months so no reason to think we cannot do so in the second half of the season. It becomes an issue in March or April if we're still in Europe and the others are not. Until then, it's close to being a level playing field.

With regard to depth - we basically played 7, 8, 9 reserve players in Europa League against teams supposed to be somewhere around the same level as clubs like AC Milan and Arsenal - and we had the group won after 4 of the 6 games. On Thursday, we started six bench players against Cittadella and had the game over and done with after 25 minutes. Cittadella are 4 points off the top of Serie B - they could be in our league next season - and we destroyed them. They are the calibre of team that in seasons gone by, would put 3, 4 or 5 goals past us in January or February.

Our bench is most probably good enough to finish Top 10 in Serie A, if not higher. To buy two or three players in the January market, we have to sell two or three players (squad registration rules). Why on earth would you decide to wheel and deal midway through the season? We are having one of the best seasons in our history, partly because we have more depth than at any point in Lotito era. You can take any 4-5 players out of this team, and I can still make the team look very good.

We are one of the favourites for Europa League. Bookmaker odds don't reflect that because they are based largely on reputation - how else can anyone seriously argue Milan are more likely to win any competition than Lazio? There are 2-3 teams with a better team on paper, but we're playing as well as anyone.

Can we play false 9 ?
No Ciro and we have FA and Alberto.

Caicedo has 4 goals and 2 assists in 600 odd minutes of football this season - he's basically good for scoring or creating a goal in every game - and you'd contemplate changing our system to play a midfielder as a striker?

Almost get the feeling Caicedo is only being criticised now to justify the vitriol towards his signing in the summer. He's doing a very fine job and deserves the start.

I wouldn't rule out formation changes later in the season or going into next season, especially if we lose de Vrij. Thought Radu and Wallace worked well in a back four last season in the limited minutes they had together and 4-2-3-1 is seeing something of a renaissance lately. I'd be surprised if Inzaghi isn't contemplating how we might do with three behind Immobile; Luis Alberto on the left, SMS up the middle and Anderson on the right might see us get the absolute most out of all three and Immobile.

You don't want to change a winning tactic obviously, but if de Vrij is being moved on now or in the summer, there may be better solutions in a post-de Vrij Lazio. Maybe that's where Gustavo Scarpa comes into it as someone who seems capable of walking in and being an understudy to all three attacking-midfielders.

I cant see Alberto leaving for a while actually, he is only young so its not like hes in a rush to move to a "big team", and - like Ciro - hes already had the bad experience of going to a big name and not performing/not playing.

Also like Ciro, he is now at a team where he is appreciated, he is growing as a player, and getting gametime and playing well. At least for a couple more seasons I dont think he will want to risk losing that.

Atletico Madrid are favs on paper, but when the players are calling it a shit competition you actually wonder if they will focus on it.

Brazilian source, noted Globoesporte, reporting that Lazio may be seriously interested in Fluminense on field "brain", Gustavo Scarpa. Scarpa is technically doted player who can play in all positions behind forward and posses reasonable speed. It's being said that Palmeiras are also looking after him, but Fluminense would be more open to sell in Europe, while Lazio and Fenerbahce most interested. He has Italian passport and that wouldn't make problems for Lazio.

Player similar to Luis Alberto and if voices of interest for Alberto in Spain are true, we could very well be interested. Personally I'm a fan of Scarpa for some time.

Very interesting player but strange rumour.  It's for the position that Lazio is overstocked for at the moment.
It could make sence if 2 of Nani, Felipe or Alberto would leave next summer.  And that could happen if Alberto would want to be back in Spain and Nani isn't bought out after the loan.
